myspace layout and background question?

i am trying to put a new layour and or background, but it won't work. i copy the code then paste it in my about me section and save changes, but it won't work. what am i doing wrong am i going to the wrong site?i always make sure it's clear before i paste in a new code, it just changes the background color. it won't give me any images.
